ScreenTrustMRI – a clinical trial on image-based AI as a selection tool for supplemental MRI in breast cancer screening
Dr. Fredrik Strand, MSc MD PhD, is a breast radiologist at Karolinska University Hospital and associate professor at Karolinska Institutet in Stockolm, Sweden. His research focus is on AI for breast imaging with the aim to promote early cancer detection, and to guide diagnostic and therapeutic decisions. He has recently led two clinical trials: ScreenTrustCAD with a commercial AI tool for standalone reads of screening mammograms, and ScreenTrustMRI with the in-house AISmartDensity for risk-stratified breast cancer screening including supplemental MRI. Dr. Strand is board member of the Swedish Society of Breast Imaging. He is engaged in several collaborative projects including with Dr. Adam Yala at UC Berkeley and in two EU projects RadioVal and EUCAIM.
