During National Postdoc Appreciation Week, the UCSF Center for Intelligent Imaging (ci2) asked postdoctoral scholars to share more information about their work, including Felix Gassert, MD, BSc, MBA, who is involved in a wide range of projects here.

One of Dr. Gassert's main focuses lies on the data curation and annotation for machine learning applications as well as the implementation of those algorithms into clinical workflows for solving real world problems in healthcare through machine learning. Dr. Gassert's second focus lies on studies for improved image quality in MR imaging, mainly in a new low-field MR system where he performs both, phantom and clinical studies. The overall goal of those projects is to improve diagnostic accuracy in medical imaging and consequently improve patient outcomes.

"What I like most about my role is the interdisciplinarity between machine learning engineers and clinicians to unify different skill sets for improved patient care," says Dr. Gassert.

Check back with us throughout the week to hear more from UCSF ci2 postdoctoral scholars and researchers.
