Esther Yuh, M.D., Ph.D., is Professor in Residence of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging. She completed her M.D. at Stanford University in 2002, internship in Internal Medicine at Stanford University Medical Center in 2007, Radiology residency at UCSF in 2007, and advanced fellowship training in Neuroradiology at UCSF in 2009.
Dr. Yuh performs interventional spine procedures and interprets neuroimaging exams. She has been commended by the UCSF Recognize program in 2025 and medical center-wide UCSF Radiology Referring Provider Survey in 2019 for outstanding clinical service to UCSF non-radiologist clinicians. In 2009, Dr. Yuh was the UCSF Department of Radiology's Outstanding Teaching Fellow of the Year. In 2010, Dr Yuh was a nominee for UCSF Medical Center's Exceptional Physician Award.
Dr. Yuh is Principal Investigator of a DoD-funded project on acute blood tests for traumatic brain injury.
She is current Editor in Chief of the journal AI in Neuroscience, a multidisciplinary peer-reviewed research journal that aims to publish high-quality peer-reviewed content concerning applications of artificial intelligence (AI) to clinical, cognitive and behavioral, computational, molecular and cellular neuroscience.
